Matched

March 2nd. March 2nd is the first day we laid eyes on them. March 2nd is the first day we fell in love. March 2nd is the first day we committed to doing everything in our power to pursue these children.

Today. Today is the day we can say “Matched.” The one word we have prayed for so long. The word that says they’re ours. They will be our children, and we will be our own new family perfectly crafted by our Lord. Adoption is a beautiful tragedy, but today, we see the beauty. A new family born of love. A new family born solely by God’s grace. We can’t begin to share our excitement with you, and we can’t begin to express how deeply grateful we are to our Lord for His constant goodness in this long journey of waiting.

Although brief, the excerpt above was shared with friends and family on December 4th. We received our match for our children, and there was nothing we could dream of wanting more.

Finally. Our children. The children we had been fighting so hard for without them ever knowing our names, were ours. The moment we received this news was a moment of intense joy and tears of gratitude to our Lord for His graciousness. We have prayed countless prayers for our children and relied on the Lord for months praying for favor from all involved to grant us our match to adopt them.

The waiting may be hard, but our God is in control. Although we may wish for things to happen in our timing, God’s timing is always perfect. Our children found out just in time for Christmas that they have a forever family. What a wonderful Christmas gift for all of us. 🥰
